If you take metal detecting seriously or even if you only have time to go out on a hunt once in a while, you’ll want to learn more about the Garrett Scorpion Gold Stinger metal detector. Let’s take a look at this light yet rugged device. We will look at the pros, the cons, all of the features, user friendly capabilities and more to find out if the Garrett Scorpion Gold Stinger metal detector fits your needs. After all, when you are out on the hunt for a treasure, you need a machine that can hold up to the task at hand and deliver excellent, accurate results.

Garrett Scorpion Gold Stinger Metal Detector

The Garrett Scorpion Gold Stinger metal detector is marketed as a great gold hunting detector, however let’s see what this device offers to a user, if it is truly accurate at detecting gold and how well the Garrett Scorpion handles other tasks as well.

This detector has been designed for pinpointing buried gold nuggets; however this does not mean that it cannot be used for finding other treasures as well. In regard to gold, this device has 15kHz of Single Frequency Operation to infiltrate through heavily mineralized ground in order to locate gold nuggets, placer, float and ore veins.

The Garrett Scorpion Gold Stinger metal detector allows a user to opt between non-motion all-metal operation, motion discriminate (for when you wish to search for coins) and true TR discrimination which allows you to precisely recognize or grade conductive ore. This is all done in a second, with the flip of a switch.

When you are searching for gold or precious metals, the last thing that you want to do is to keep being fooled by fool’s gold. The Garrett Scorpion Gold Stinger metal detector was designed so that the user knows when they are passing over not just fool’s gold, but iron rocks, non-conductive elements and low grade silver ore.

Let’s take a look at your options when you purchase the Garrett Scorpion Gold Stinger metal detector. You can choose between the 1194370 with a 5 inch by 10 inch coil and ten inch gold pan or the 1194371 model which has a five by ten inch, three by seven inch coil and a ten inch gold pan.

The specs on this device are quite impressive. It has an adjustable length to take you anywhere from 42 inches to 51. The weight of this model is one of its best features, as the Garrett Scorpion Gold Stinger metal detector only weighs 3.3 pounds (1.5kgs) which greatly impacts usability. As you know, when that arm gets tired, even the best of treasure hunting outings may need to be paused. At under four pounds, you can go all day with this device. Other features are All-Metal Deepseekings mode, an adjustable audio threshold, full range discrimination, a headphone jack, depth adjustment and sensitivity, , surface mounted PC board technology and of course, a speaker.

Scorpion Gold Stinger Detector

Your experience with the detector may depend quite a bit on how much time you take to actually read the manual. Those who do take the time to read it thoroughly, and even perhaps two times, found themselves having positives experiences, as opposed to those who wanted to jump right in to detecting without truly understanding how the device works.

The biggest pros for this detector are the light weight, long battery life and ruggedness. Cons are that changing batteries is actually a bit frustrating, as the housing must be disassembled and it uses three 9 volts, a better area for batteries and running on AA’s would be a good improvement. Also the ground balance when in all metal mode needs to be adjusted often. You may find it helpful to stay in motion discriminate mode.

The uses and also the importance of the metal detectors in the field of Archaeology, with the passage of years, are increasing by leaps and bounds. In this regard there is hardly any doubt that the metal detectors are and are also becoming fascinating pieces of technology. What has been found, is that there is the presence of a variety uses and have become even more versatile throughout the years. Ever since the first metal detectors came out in the 19th century, scientists and engineers have never stopped working on better and more efficient designs. In this day and age, there is the great presence of metal detectors that can identify metals in the best accurate manner for which they have become indispensable tools in fields like Archaeology.

It is the deign of Gerhard Fischer regarding the use of resonating coils for the proper identification of the presence of metal under the ground that became a major success. These metal detectors proved to be an asset during World War II. Metal detectors were used during the war to find land mines scattered across the paths of troops. They saved a number of soldiers back then. However, these metal detectors could have been more useful if they were not that heavy. But to be very precise in these days, the metal detectors have number of applications. If you take in concern the field of Archaeology, there the metal detectors are indeed of good help.

Though, it has been found, that in some countries especially France and Sweden law makes metal detectors against the law, but with special permission it can be used. In the face of all these restrictions the contribution of metal detectors in this area cannot be denied. A good example is the utilization of these detectors to inspect wide areas like sites of battlefields, where the only remains could be the surface, scattered with metal objects. What has been learnt is that the metal detectors are used by the archeologists, to find out there remnants of the metals of the ancient periods.

On the other hand, at several times, some people do utilize consumer metal detectors for the sake of finding coins on the beach as heir hobby. But most often they are used by the archeologists for the sake of coin Shooting, searching for coins, mainly old coins. Other than this they are also used for the sake of prospecting, searching for precious metals like gold or silver; relic hunting, searching for any thing that has any historical significance, like weapons and also for the hunting of treasures and also several other types of hidden items. But at the same time, one should be aware of the correct procedure of using a metal detector. In this regard the very first need is to take a great care of tuning.

This invariably means the detector must be adjusted so that it can be able to be on familiar terms with the ground as a channel for the targets to be inside. From time to time, nevertheless the devise posses a self-tuning trait installed. It is only after this one gets ready to go for the search of the targets, coins, treasure or anything. Remember the placement of the loop is also very important. To get the best functioning it should be held at arms length along with the loop and it should be barely above the ground and the loop must always be in motion for best result. While searching with the detector one should move at a slow pace.

To conclude, apart from the presence of convenient metal detectors that we have grown accustomed to and use in hobbies and games like treasure hunting, there is also the presence of several bigger models that are used for the most part in security and related fields.

It use to be that whenever you wanted to get into metal detecting, you kind of had to go into it by yourself. Sure you had a manual on how to run the machine, but besides that you were on your own. However, now that more and more people are starting to use the internet, we are starting to see different types of clubs popping up everywhere, and this includes metal detecting clubs. These are clubs that you can find online (and some locally) that have a whole bunch of members that are into metal detecting. This is a good place for first time people that have never used a metal detector before.

Garrett GTI2500 Detector

Sometimes when you get started doing something new it can be scary if you do not have people there to help you out. The good news is that if you are getting into metal detectors, then you are going to be able to find a lot of metal detecting clubs online. These are great places for people who have been using metal detectors for a long time, and for people who are just starting out. For the people who have been using metal detectors for a long time, this is a great place for you to come and share your knowledge of your favorite hobby. This is your chance to help people out, and give back to your fellow man. For the people who are just now starting out, this is a good place to come and talk to people who have been using metal detectors for a long time. For any question you are going to have, more than likely these guys have lived through it. When you are first using metal detectors it can be hard to get the hang of them. Metal detecting clubs can help you get started.

Not only are metal detecting clubs good for answering questions about how to use a metal detector, but they are a good place to talk about what kind of metal detectors are the best. If you are looking into getting a metal detector this may be a good club to join first. You will be able to come on here and ask people questions about different models and makes of metal detectors. Another thing that makes metal detecting clubs so much fun is the stories you get to hear. A lot of these people use all their free time for metal detecting, and they have seen a lot of pretty funny things. A lot of these clubs will have different forums that you can join where you can start different topics. These topics could be about stories, FAQ, or what kind of model is the best to buy. As you can see, these clubs are just all around good places to start.

I have had a lot of different hobbies over my life time, but none of them have been as rewarding as metal detecting. Not only that, I have made a lot of good friends by going out and metal detecting. Online in the forums and in these clubs, you are going to talk to really nice people that want to help you. You are not going to just find metal and treasure whenever you are using metal detectors. You are going to find friends. Now that is the best kind of hobby I think that you can have, the one that gets you involved with other people.
